In Your Shadow

In your shadow

Beneath the sunshine

Under the rainbow

Humming a rhyme.

In your shadow

Where warm tears

Trickled down slow

Like a string of pearls.

In your shadow

Where cheerful laughter

Filled my little world

To make it a little better.

In your shadow

Should there be rain

And strong winds billow

You’ll be there to bear all my pain.

In your shadow

If  I get lost

Under the willows

You’ll be there for me.

In your shadow

The magic begins

In your wisdom I follow

So that I can shine and win

When the shadow fades

There comes the hurricane

To swallow me in haste

And carry me from the memory lanes.

But I made a little vow

I will always strive

So that your shadow will stay awhile

Forever in my life.

Even when it fades away

My soul will not break away

I will stand steadfast and not sway

Where your memories burn on and stay
