http://sharonnghy94.blogspot.com/2012/02/part-time-job.html
I am back to work again! Once again, it is all about joss papers. Previously, I have mentioned that I folded paper lotus. (Refer the link above)
There were more than 100 lotuses but that amount was unable to meet the huge demands of the temple. Whoa, there must be devotees pouring-no, but FLOODING into the temple-all the time! Yet, I am no longer folding lotuses already.
Now, it is the joss paper business again, but this time, it is meant for folding Hell bank notes, known as "Ong Seng Chee" in the Hokkien dialect.
I have to make little holes on specific designs on the paper using a lighted joss stick whie chanting "Namo Amitabha" at the same time. Later, I had to stack ten papers and fold them together. No paper with even the slightest tear is allowed. As for the wage, it is RM12 for 1000 papers.
To be honest, it is back-breaking and tiring. I managed only 100 papers per hour. Worst of all, I even burnt my right thumb in the process.
Yet, I will never give up on this job, whilst waiting for the upcoming QTI and driving test at the same time.
