Where are our Hearts??!! 人心何在?

If you think that we should rest on our laurels as Malaysia is peace, think again.
假如你认为大马天下太平,请三思。

One tear is payed with one slap. Where is JUSTICE? The victim is in Form One and the bullier is in Form Two. What is actually the problem in between both forms? My goodness...

一滴眼泪,就要挨一巴掌,天理何在?况且,遭欺凌者才念初中一,而欺凌他人者念初中二,井水不犯河水,为何要这样对待他人?

There is not even the slightest respect towards other people! What is more, the bullying process is uploaded to the Net! Have you guys no shame?

欺负他人,对他们没半点儿尊重,还把欺负他人的过程放上网,无耻!

It baffles me. Don't they have any FAMILY EDUCATION AND MORAL UPBRINGING? They can even commit silly stuffs like this! I think it is time to look into our education system. We want smart students, but not those who cannot behave well and love the others, right?

我真的不明白,他们难道没有家教?这么岂有此理的事情也干得出?是时候我们检讨教育系统了吧。培养聪明学生之余,我们也不希望拥有缺乏良心的未来主人翁啊!

Halo vs Teacher's Day

It was the belated Teacher's Day a couple of days ago. By the way, I wish to apologize as I did not take any pictures of the Teacher's Day!

The events went as usual-National anthems, school songs, speeches... all those usual stuff. However, the performances were AWESOME! I liked the performances, especially the drama by the School Drama team, which was about an abuse in a Child Shelter. Unfortunately, right before those performances, it rained and it was 20 minutes before we were permitted to look for shelters!

Later, it was meals. We had KFC...

However, the highlight of the day was nothing but the SOLAR HALO PHENOMENON! That was a rare phenomenon, as you can see. My friends even thought that the end of the world is coming...

Okay, why did that phenomenon happen? Here is a Wikipedia entry to tell you why...

 Halo (Optical Phenomenon)

A halo from Greek ἅλως; also known as a nimbus, icebow or Gloriole) is an optical phenomenondiamond dust are floating in the nearby air. produced by ice crystals creating colored or white arcs and spots in the sky. Many are near the sun or moon but others are elsewhere and even in the opposite part of the sky. They can also form around artificial lights in very cold weather when ice crystals called
There are many types of ice halos. They are produced by the ice crystals in cirrus clouds high (5–10 km, or 3–6 miles) in the upper troposphere. The particular shape and orientation of the crystals is responsible for the type of halo observed. Light is reflected and refracted by the ice crystals and may split up into colors because of dispersion. The crystals behave like prisms and mirrors, refracting and reflecting sunlight between their faces, sending shafts of light in particular directions.
Atmospheric phenomena such as halos were used as part of weather lore as an empirical means of weather forecasting before meteorology was developed.
Other common optical phenomena involving water droplets rather than ice crystals include the glory and the rainbow.

Well, I think Taipingnites are really lucky to witness that natural phenomena which occurs once in a blue moon. That event actually happened at around 12.25 p.m. However, most of my friends view it as a bad sign that the end of the world is coming. I do not know if it is true, but I hope it is not. I have not even achieve my dreams yet...!!!

In Your Shadow

In Your Shadow

In your shadow
Beneath the sunshine
Under the rainbow
Humming a rhyme.

In your shadow
Where warm tears
Trickled down slow
Like a string of pearls.

In your shadow
Where cheerful laughter
Filled my little world
To make it a little better.

In your shadow
Should there be rain
And strong winds billow
You’ll be there to bear all my pain.

In your shadow
If  I get lost
Under the willows
You’ll be there for me.

In your shadow
The magic begins
In your wisdom I follow
So that I can shine and win

When the shadow fades
There comes the hurricane
To swallow me in haste
And carry me from the memory lanes.

But I made a little vow
I will always strive
So that your shadow will stay awhile
Forever in my life.

Even when it fades away
My soul will not break away
I will stand steadfast and not sway
Where your memories burn on and stay

Lady Antebellum-Home is Where the Heart is

Home Is Where The Heart Is lyrics

I felt I was spinning my wheels
Before too long the road was calling
I packed everything I own
So sure that I was leaving this small town life behind for good
And not a single tear was falling
It took leaving for me to understand
Sometimes your dreams just aren't what life has planned

[Chorus]
Mama said home is where the heart is
When I left that town
I made it all the way to West Virginia
And that's where my heart found
Exactly where I'm supposed to be
It didn't take much time
It's just south of the Mason Dixon line
It's just south of the Mason Dixon line

[ From : http://www.elyrics.net/read/l/lady-antebellum-lyrics/home-is-where-the-heart-is-lyrics.html ]
I worked third shift at an all night diner
Only stayed to save a little money for
Enough gas to make it to the east coast
That's when I saw the brightest pair of
Deep blue eyes walking straight into my life
And every night we talked till it became so clear
And I could feel those dreams inside shifting gears
Cause love brought me here

[Repeat Chorus]

And I'm standing in my veil about to say I do
As mama smiles with tear drops in her eyes
And then I realize there's something mama always knew
Love is what I really left to find

[Repeat Chorus]

Lady Antebellum-Hello World

Hello World lyrics
Songwriters: Douglas, Tom; Lane, Tony; Lee, David;

Traffic cars, cell phone calls, top video screams at me
Through my tender window I see a little girl, rust red minivan
She's got chocolate on her face, got little hands
And she waves at me, yeah, she smiles at me

Well, hello world, how've you been?
Good to see you, my old friend
Sometimes I feel cold as steel
Broken like I'm never gonna heal
I see a light, little hole in the little girl
Well, hello world

Every day I drive by a little white church
It's got these little white crosses like angels in the yard
Maybe I should stop on in and say a prayer
Maybe talk to God like he is there
Oh, I know He's there, yeah, I know He's there

Well, hello world, how've you been?
Good to see you, my old friend
Sometimes I feel as cold as steel
And broken like I'm never gonna heal
I see a light, little grace, little faith unfurl
Well, hello world

Sometimes I forget what living's for
And I hear my life through my front door
And I'll be there, oh, I'm home again

I see my wife, little boy, little girl
Hello world, hello world

Oh, the empty disappears
I remember why I'm here
To surrender and believe
I fall down on my knees
Oh hello world, hello world, hello world

Spell-It-Right (S.I.R.) Challenge

It was the Spell-It-Right (S.I.R.) Challenge on the 15th of May in Taiping Sentral. I joined the event along with Ashreyna, Janusyia, Peraavinah and some six other representatives from my school.

Before the Competition
Registration.

The relatively LARGE crowd.

I had my tag number as 101. Wow, it was strategic! However, that meant that I would had to wait for quite some time before my turn. All of us were seated with students from the other schools in Perak, which is my state.

The competition began at around 10.00 a.m, after those opening speeches and briefings about the competition. Time to TWIST your brains, guys and girls!!!

The Competition Scene...

And you have to do nothing but to spell-it-right.
The 12 chairs, where the participants are seated. In the preliminary rounds, participants who spelled their first word wrong were eliminated. The second round, third round, etc. are held at the same time to choose the participant who made it into the final.

Here are just what happened during the competition... The words given were quite difficult, and we had to face the judges, participants and curious shoppers as well!

The first batch.

Aleysha in action!

The second batch.

Kamini's turn.

The third batch.

Swarna: Okay, take a deep breath and FOCUS...

The fourth batch.

The sixth batch.

The seventh batch.

The eighth batch.

The ninth batch.

The tenth batch-my batch! I am 101.

Me trying to spell out loud. However, I did not make it to the final because of the word "kedgeree"... duh!

The eleventh batch.

Eleventh batch ft. Peraavinah

The twelfth batch.

Farhana's turn. She was the first representative from my school to make it into the finals after about three rounds with another girl.

The thirteenth batch.

Janusyia: What? XD

The fourteenth batch.

Ashreyna was next from my school to enter the final.

The fifteenth batch-which was the last batch to end the day.

Iffa went into the final too.

The Final

The words spelled in the final were damn difficult (in fact, I did not came across any of them before this! They were mouthfuls to spell too...)

However, the three finalists from my school won Consolation prizes. Congratulations!

Awards Giving Ceremony

The decoration for the stage.

While waiting for the ceremony, I strolled around the school and saw the "Pledge of Excellence" which consists of the aims of the Form Five students in my school. My oh my, I actually aimed for only 10A+ and 1A ( because I have little confidence in History) but they put my aim as 11A+ ! The problem is: CAN I POSSIBLY ACHIEVE IT???!!!

Here are some of the snapshots of my friends in the school hall.
Thibaa. She is a cutie, and is good at heart, too.

I cannot wait this anymore...!!!

When the V.I.P finally arrived (sorry, I forgot the name of the V.I.P. ) There were the usual events: Singing of the National Anthem, school songs, and prayer recital session. To start the ceremony, a dance performance which showcased the traditional attire of the various races in Malaysia was held.

The Principal delivered the opening speech.

The V.I.P. had her say. The ceremony was officially opened after that.

The gimmick. Aye, I was TIRED of the same old music!
After all those speeches, video presentations and gimmicks, it was the long-awaited Prize-Giving Session! I am in some of the pictures-try to identify them! :D I was the third in Form Four last year.

It was the singing performance by the trio after that, right before the prize-giving event for the high-achievers in SPM 2010.

Here is the list of the high achievers last year:
  • Top PMR scorer: Dashini a/p Suras Varan
  • Top SPM scorer: Esther Hor Shan Lin
  • Della Olson Award for Service Beyond Self: Chai Sze Nee, Nadiatul Hanan bt Mohd. Amin
  •
  • Anugerah Pekerti Mulia: Aisyah bt. Ahmad Azhar
  • Puteri TMGS: Ameera Suaida bt. Roslee

Picture Picture Time...

Cynthia and her family (without Sylvia)

Sze Nee and Hanan
